FAQ

Here we will answer the most frequently asked questions of some of our patients.

Why’s that “girl” cleaning my teeth?

While Dr. Freedman occasionally will see a patient for a Dental Health Visit, our office uses a dental hygienist.. Beth was in a dental hygiene college program with both lecture and clinical concepts. Before she could treat patients she was required to pass a Pennsylvania state licensing exam. Our hygienist is trained in all phases of preventative dentistry and is your first line of defense against decay and gum disease.

Why’s that “girl” working on my tooth?

Dr. Freedman’s two assistants are EFDA’s or Expanded Function Dental Assistants. Both Alyssa and Kathy were educated in a two year college program and were required to take a Pennsylvania state licensing exam prior to treating patients. They are highly skilled professionals, much like a RN, but for Dentists.

I have two insurances, how does that work?

Coleen is an expert on insurance and with the internet, she can often make an educated approximate of your benefit package. It is important to remember that dental insurance is something your employer purchases and there are thousands of benefit packages.

How soon can I get an appointment?

If you have an emergency, we will fit you in the day you call; with daytime and emergency appointment times, we have a full range of options for most other patient needs.

Can I pay by credit card?

Yes, for your convenience we accept Discover, Visa, MasterCard and American Express.

I hate pain! Will it hurt?

Dr. Freedman and his clinical team are experts in painless dentistry. We even offer “Twilight” sleep as an option.

How often is Dr. Gradwell in the office?

Dr. Gradwell works the second Monday of every month, but is flexible for patients who have specific needs and several times a year works 2 days a month in the office.

How can I afford dental care, I don’t have dental insurance?

Routine dental care is really not that expensive. Two comprehensive dental exams, digital x-rays and cleanings are less than 1 dollar a day and a filling cost about the same as a surgical extraction, except with the former, you still have your teeth!
