Dentist At The Dentist:Part 4

Well it is 7 weeks since my tooth was extracted and now I have a big “hole” or space on my upper left! No pain, no soreness, some bone shrinkage on the outside gum area, but definitely a large space. Now comes what I think is the hardest part of the process…..waiting for my implant to integrate and getting my new implant crown!

Now it is all about time! The bone forming cells (the Osteoblasts) have migrated from my jaw bone to the implant’s surface and connected to it. Now those cells are calcifying! Just waiting for the time that the implant is secure enough to firmly support my new implant crown!

It’s all about waiting now. Appropriate healing time! I can wait it out because I have patience!

So for the next 8 remaining weeks while my implant finishes integrating, my “Dentist at the Dentist” blog series will be on hiatus. We’ll be discussing other topics until than, but when it’s time to start making my implant crown we’ll start up again.

We’ll start the blog next week with some new topics as we must wait. Please don’t hesitate to comment if you’d like me to explore or explain something that is of interest to you! Have a great weekend!
